Poster on water in the Alps
How is the climate crisis affecting the Alps, the “water castle of Europe”? What will it take to ensure that we continue to have sufficient water as a habitat and resource in the future? The poster ‘H2O: precious, powerful, scarce’ summarises the key findings of the Future Forum Alps on the topic of water, which took place on 27 and 28 June 2025 in Liechtenstein. It is based on the scientific findings and practical experience of the participating experts. It is available for free download.

Voices along the Via Alpina – film and panel discussion
For 25 years, the Via Alpina has been connecting people, cultures and landscapes across the Alpine region as an international long-distance hiking trail. With a series of podcasts, the project "Voices along the Via Alpina" tells its story, highlights the challenges and opportunities of long-distance hiking and raises awareness of sustainable tourism in the Alps. To mark the end of the anniversary year and International Mountain Day on 11 December 2025, CIPRA International is hosting a film evening at Skino, followed by a panel discussion and apéro at Literaturhaus Liechtenstein.

Dialogue on Alpine Spatial Planning: Proceedings of the CIPRA Annual Conference 2025
How can Alpine Spatial Planning mitigate conflicts between the energy transition and nature restoration? This question was addressed at the CIPRA Annual Conference 2025 in Salzburg, which brought together more than 160 participants. The proceedings show key insights and recommended actions – not in a concluding way, but as part of an ongoing learning process and as an impulse for further debates. They underline the shared understanding that the energy transition in the Alpine region must be approached and implemented in a cross-sectoral, interdisciplinary, and transboundary manner.

Position: Transport and mobility in the Alps
In its new 40-page position paper, CIPRA outlines sustainable mobility in the Alpine region with the least possible negative impact of transport on the environment and people. Yoalin (Youth Alpine Interrail)
Since 2018, 100 to 150 people aged between 18 and 27 were invited to apply for a Yoalin ticket every year. Equipped with an Interrail Global Pass, they are able to discover the Alps in a climate-friendly way using public transport. They also become part of the active community, which is constantly growing.

Reading Mountains Festival 2024
Celebrating Alpine cultural heritage in the scope of International Mountain Day - 11 December. The Reading Mountains Festival is a way to connect people who love books and mountains, even if they are physically apart. Book lovers and authors, mountaineers and artists throughout the Alps (and beyond) have a chance to discuss similar issues and evaluate the meaning, impact, and purpose of Alpine literature. Some of these discussions are captured in the film “People, Books and Mountains - The Quest for Alpine literature” that was produced as a follow up to the first editions of the Reading Mountains Festival.

Dossier Quality of life and young in the Alps the case of Slovenia, Germany and France
Between January 2023 and May 2024, CIPRA Slovenia was together with CIPRA Germany, CIPRA France, and CIPRA International working on researching the topic of quality of life for young people in the Alps. With the support from ERASMUS+, a Dossier, which is part of the project Alpine Compass: Youth for the quality of life in the Alps, was created.
