- The Trento Film Festival is one of the oldest italian film festivals still in operation.
The Trento Film Festival is one of the oldest italian film festivals still in operation.
Every year, the international competition presents the best documentaries, fiction films and short films set in the mountains and extreme regions of the world, which compete for the awards assigned by a jury composed of personalities from the world of cinema, culture and mountaineering. The festival also features several sections that explore the fascinating and complex relationship between man and nature, promoting knowledge and protection of the land, deepening ties with peoples and cultures, and celebrating great and small achievements in mountaineering and mountain sports.
Telling stories about the mountains is an activity that is even more ancient than recounting them with images. Since 1987, MontagnaLibri has represented an annual international publishing showcase where it is possible to find all the most recent books dedicated to the mountains, exploration, adventure, care for the environment, and the cultures of the world’s highlands in general.
Guidebooks, handbooks, treatises, photography books, climbing histories, reports and diaries, literary works and children’s books, biographies and autobiographies published all over the planet. This is the evocative journey through “mountains of paper” presented to visitors coming to the MontagnaLibri fair at the main venues:
Trento, 24 April – 3 May 2026
Bolzano, June 2026
Brig (CH), November 2026
Bard, Valle d’Aosta, December 2026 – January 2027
