Climate Responsible CIPRA: Our Way to Net Zero
CIPRA International is currently on its way to becoming a climate-neutral organization. Together with the Swiss initiative myclimate, we have taken the first steps towards making our organization climate-friendly and transparent. This encompasses everything from calculating our emissions, to the development of potential reduction measures, impactful educational programmes and creating a comprehensive climate strategy.
By creating an inventory of our CO₂ - emissions, we were able to identify the most effective starting points. Building on this, we are now taking the next step: the targeted reduction of our emissions.
In 2025 we developed a strategy to reduce our emissions, which we are implementing step by step. We are offsetting our remaining emissions together with the environmental consultancy company ETIFOR through a project in the Alps: in the Ticino Valley, we are supporting, among other things, the improvement of local forests.
In addition to reducing our own emissions, this is an essential part of our climate strategy on the path to net zero. In doing so, we are not only focusing on greenhouse gas emissions but are contributing towards sustainable development- in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a sustainable development within the Alpine region.
